Zoysia Australis is a premium warm-season turf known for its deep roots, drought tolerance, and slow growth. It performs exceptionally well in the Darling Downs because it is climitised to our hot summers, dry spells, frosts, and mixed soil types. This makes it a durable, low-maintenance option for family homes, builders, landscapers, and acreage properties.
Zoysia Australis is one of the lowest-maintenance turf varieties available, because it grows slowly. Most homeowners find they mow significantly less often compared to other varieties. Keeping it at 20–30 mm is ideal for a neat, premium finish.
During winter frosts, Zoysia Australis will bronze or brown, which is normal for warm-season turf in the Darling Downs climate. It stays healthy underneath and greens quickly as temperatures rise in spring. Climitised turf grown locally will typically recover faster than turf sourced from outside the region.
